Eating on a Banana Leaf
January 7, 2026Passion With Purpose
For me, work has never been only about personal growth or creative expression. It has always carried a deeper responsibility — to use what I know, what I love, and what I have been given, in service of others.
Education and health are two foundations that quietly shape the course of a life. When children have access to learning, care, and encouragement, their possibilities expand. This belief has guided me for years and continues to be the reason I show up to my work with commitment and intention.
Alongside my journey as an artist and creator, I have consistently engaged in philanthropy in ways that feel personal and hands-on. Rather than separating “work” and “giving,” I have tried to let them flow together — allowing my skills to become tools for impact.
Over the years, I have supported several initiatives focused on children’s health, education, and community upliftment. This includes contributing to Operation Smile in the Philippines, supporting life-changing medical care for children, and working with Gawad Kalinga, whose housing and education projects aim to restore dignity and stability to underprivileged families.
Teaching has also been an important part of this journey. I have offered art education as a service at orphanages, including at Holy Family Home in the Philippines, where creative expression becomes a gentle yet powerful way for children to process emotions, build confidence, and feel seen. Art, in these spaces, is not about technique — it is about healing, communication, and possibility.
In addition to these efforts, I sponsor children’s education every year, supporting their learning journey consistently rather than as a one-time act. Education is not a moment — it is a commitment — and walking alongside a child year after year feels like one of the most meaningful ways to contribute to long-term change.
These efforts have taken many forms: auctioning artworks, donating proceeds, baking for causes, teaching, and quietly supporting families and children where possible. None of it has ever felt like charity. It feels like participation — a shared responsibility to uplift, to support, and to give back with sincerity.
This purpose is what fuels my work today. It is what pushes me to work harder, stay grounded, and grow thoughtfully. Every artwork created, every class taught, every experience curated carries the intention to serve beyond the self.
As I continue my journey through art, food, and wellness, giving back remains a steady compass — not as a statement, but as a way of life.
Passion gives work its energy.
Purpose gives it direction.
And when the two come together, even small actions can create lasting ripples — in ways that matter.
